My name is Jacob Citron. I am a Lyceum Scholar and Economics Major at Clemson University, and I plan to pursue a career in law. I also serve on the editorial board of the Clemson Law Review and engage in professional photography.
Background
My Family
I have the world's greatest family, and I thank G-d for them every day. I keep the personal aspects of my life private, but I can say this: without my family, I never would have made it where I am today. A lot of people say that, but I actually mean it.

Academic Philosophy

As I see it, a classical, liberal arts education is an education in things worth knowing, and without it, human life is somewhat incomplete, undeveloped, and unfulfilled.
My first exposure to this method of education was in the eighth grade, when I started at Golden View Classical Academy. It was only in the ninth grade, though, that I began to truly appreciate the classical approach to education, composed of a deep liberal arts curriculum, taught by those who are capable of serving as a catalyst to enable students to learn on their own.
Having fallen in love with this method of education and realizing its benefits to both the mind and the soul, I wanted to continue my journey in the classics while in college. I heard about the Lyceum Program from one of my literature teachers. I applied, was accepted, and, shortly after, I committed to Clemson.
The Snow Institute for the Study of Capitalism is America's premier university-based teaching and research center dedicated to exploring the moral foundations of capitalism. The Snow Institute is also the home of the Lyceum Scholars Program, which is recognized as one of America's most prestigious academic programs, with an acceptance rate of just over one percent in 2023. The Lyceum Program uses a great books approach and is dedicated to the study of the history of liberty, capitalism, the American Founding, and the principles of a moral character.
I do not intend to stop this sort of study once I graduate; rather, through religious studies, law school, and my life as a whole, I intend to continue to study the good, the true, and the beautiful.

The Path to Law
Since a very young age, I have been interested in law, and, as I grow older, my interest in the law grows as well.

My heart lies--and always has lied--with constitutional law. I have long dreamed of serving on the Supreme Court of the United States. I intend to practice appellate law.
Photography
Behind the Lens
I have been behind a camera since a very young age. My grandfather and my father were both interested in photography as a hobby. It was my family that sparked my interest in photography.
It was only in my sophomore year of high school, though, that I became interested in sports photography; however, it was in college that I really took off. During my first semester at Clemson University, I contributed photos to the University's student newspaper. A couple months later, I was picked up by Clemson's athletic department--where I have been ever since. I also engage in event photography.
Beyond the Resume
Life Outside the Work
I keep my close circle small. I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, drinking scotch, and having good conversations.
I have always had an interest in electronics and have been tinkering since a very young age. Over time, this has grown significantly in scale and complexity. For instance, this website is hosted on my own servers. Please don't try to hack me; I've spent enough time dealing with cybersecurity as is.
I enjoy reading great works of religion, philosophy, politics, economics, and literature. I am an audiophile, and I love Star Wars.
